Fossil Trilobite
Enrolled Phacops
370 million years old
Middle Devonian
Foum Zguid, Morocco.

This specimen if fossilised in an enrolled state. Many trilobites could curl in to a ball to protect against predation. Much like a woodlouse, or a hedgehog!

Trilobites were marine Arthropods. Now fully extinct, they were among the first creatures to exit with a solid body. Trilobites were a wildly varied group of creatures. They became extinct during the great Permian Mass Extinction 252 million years ago.
